Hi DoO,
On behalf of Matador and Interpol, we would kindly ask you not to post copies of "Interpol" on your site (or any non-preview tracks from the artist’s forthcoming, eponymous album - street date 7th September).
We do appreciate that you are fans of / are promoting Interpol, but the label, management and artist would greatly appreciate your co-operation in removing your links to the pirate files in question.
Thank you for respecting the artist's wishes and, if you / your readers want good quality, non-pirated, preview tracks, then a full length version of "Lights" is available for fans and bloggers to link to / post / host at www.interpolnyc.com/lights.html and “Barricade” has now also been designated as an official preview / promo track for fans and bloggers to share etc ... .. for further details of the new album, on-line promotions, videos and 2010 shows, check-out the official site, as well as the artist's MySpace at www.myspace.com/interpol and YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/interpolvideos ... .. and keep an eye on these official sources for details of further news, preview material and on-line promotions.
All right, Mr. John Wayne! You've been a very polite sheriff and we'll comply to your demands. Keep in mind we're just poor little south-american indians trying to hug trees and gaze at the stars to the sound of great music in a world of planetary consciousness and exchange of information and knowledge, while hoping for a new zeitgeist where art would not be about commerce and the web would not turn into a police state... ;)
